In short, the answer is yes – you can play Bureau 13 on a MacBook Air. However, there are some things you need to know in order to make sure the experience is as good as possible. In this article, we’ll take a look at what you need to do in order to get Bureau 13 up and running on your Mac, as well as some of the recommended settings for doing so.
Bureau 13 is a popular role-playing game that was released for Windows back in 1997. The game has been ported over to Mac OS X by porting company PlayOnMac, and while it’s not an officially supported title by Apple, it does work – with a few caveats.
The first thing you’ll need to do is download and install PlayOnMac from here. Once installed, launch the application and click on “Install software” located in the top left corner of the window. Then use the search bar at the top of the window to find and install Bureau 13.
Once installed, open Bureau 13 from within PlayOnMac and click on “Configure”. You’ll then want to go into the “Graphics” tab and change both “Video memory size” and “Dynamic video memory allocation” to 128 MB each (or more if needed). You may also want to adjust other settings depending on your hardware configuration – just remember that lower end machines may require some tweaking in order to get good performance out of Bureau 13. Click on OK once you’ve made any changes you deem necessary.
