MX Superfly is an annual salary survey of nurses in the United States. The report uses data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) to provide a snapshot of nurse practitioner salaries across different sectors, regions, and specialties.
The report found that, on average, nurse practitioners make $106,367 per year. This is up from the $102,521 that was reported in last year’s survey. However, there are large variations in salaries depending on where you work.
For example, nurse practitioners working in specialist roles earn an average salary of $139,523 per year. This is compared with those working in primary care roles who earn an average salary of $89,867 per year. Likewise, those working in metropolitan areas make more than their counterparts working in rural areas – $115,157 vs $96,744 respectively.
Despite these variations however, one trend that remained consistent was that male nurse practitioners earned more than their female counterparts – averaging $113,603 compared to the average female salary of $104,-164 The study also looked at race and ethnicity and found that white non-Hispanic nurses earned the most out of all ethnic groups surveyed – with an annual salary of $111,,587 However,, black or African American nurses earned significantly less than their white colleagues – with an annual salary of only ,$87 871
