In order to play two players on Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy, one player must first select a “banker” card. The banker card will have all of the other players’ pieces attached to it, so that when the banker is captured or sacrificed, it causes both the player capturing it and the sacrificing player to lose a piece.
The second player then selects one of their own pieces and places it on top of either an empty space on their playing board or onto one of the five cursed coffins situated around Pharaoh’s tomb. When selecting a piece to place into a coffin, be sure not to place your piece next to any other pieces already in that coffin! If you’re able to successfully guard all five coffins at once, then you’ll win the game – congrats! However, if someone manages to capture your piece while you’re guarding one of the Coffins or even before you’ve had time to place your piece into a coffin at all, then they earn points for themselves (and probably give you quite an ASCII chinwag).
I’m sure by now you can see how positioning yourself strategically is key when playing this exhilarating yet devilish game – so let’s take a look at some suggested strategies:
1) Place cautionary pawns near important areas like behind artefacts or within reach of enemy pieces in order make defending them easier; alternatively, try using creatures with ranged attacks such as hawks or eagles in order flank potential attackers.
2) Keep an eye out for valuable items such as Keys (usedto unlock gates blocking entries into Pharaoh’s tomb), Catapults (which can launch stones over gaps towards opponents), Ornaments ( enhancing certain statues located throughout the game board), food which can replenish health bars mid-game and more importantly – fate cards which offer powerful bonuses should they be collected.
3) Be mindful of rival team members – carefully scrutinise each move they make in order predict possible future moves and plan accordingly. And finally… always use common sense when playing this wickedly fun puzzle game – don’t forget there are deadly traps lurking around every corner!
