Ultimate NES Remix is a Nintendo 3DS and Wii U game compilation developed by Nintendo and Indieszero. It was released in North America on December 5, 2014, in Europe on December 11, 2014, and in Japan on December 17, 2014. The game consists of 16 classic NES games remixed with various new features including updated graphics and sound, as well as new challenges to test players’ skills.
Players can choose from one of three modes: Remix Mode which presents modified versions of the games with unique objectives; Classic Mode which recreates the original gameplay experience; or Championship Mode where players compete against each other in a series of matches across all 16 games.
Ultimate NES Remix includes online leaderboards where players can compare their scores against others around the world. There are also StreetPass functionality whereby players can exchange bonus content when passing by other 3DS users who have the game installed.
