The Danger Girl comic book series by writer Jim Lee and artist John Romita Jr. has been around since 1992, and it seems like it’s coming to an end. This week, Image Comics announced that they are cancelling the series with issue #200 due out in November.
This news comes as a shock to many longtime fans of the series who were looking forward to seeing how things would play out for the characters in their final battle against Dr. Ivo “The Vulture” Steranko. However, there is no guarantee that any other publisher will pick up the series if Image does not, so it may be curtains for Danger Girl for good.
It is worth noting that this cancellation does not mean that all hope is lost for Danger Girl as she could still appear in other comics or even get her own TV show or movie down the line (although these seem less likely now). Nevertheless, this is definitely a disappointing end to an iconic superhero comic book series that has had a long and illustrious history.
