According to an article by Kotaku, it seems that Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Bros. Edition is going to be shut down. The game’s official website has been taken down, and the game’s social media accounts have been inactive for some time now. While there has been no confirmation from Nintendo or GungHo Online Entertainment about the game’s shutdown, it would appear that the writing is on the wall.
Puzzle & Dragons Z + Super Mario Bros. Edition was a crossover between two of Nintendo’s biggest franchises – Puzzle & Dragons and Super Mario Bros. The game was released in Japan in March of 2016, and in North America and Europe in May of 2016. However, it would seem that the game wasn’t as successful as either company had hoped, which may be why they’re choosing to pull the plug on it now.
It’s always sad when a video game gets shut down, especially when it’s one that players have put a lot of time into. But at least we still have plenty of other great games to keep us busy!
