Tak is an ancient healing ritual originating in Africa and used to treat everything from headaches to snakebites. The name Tak derives from the Kongo word taka, meaning “to cut” or “to bandage.” Tak uses herbs, roots, and other natural ingredients to heal wounds and promote general well-being.
The Power of Juju is a film that explores the power of Tak through the story of two women – one African American, one white – who find themselves drawn to its healing properties. Through their journey, we learn about the history and significance of this sacred ritual, as well as its potential for spiritual growth.
What I found most interesting about The Power of Juju was its portrayal of the power of belief. Both black and white women were able to tap into their inner strength and use Tak as a means for self-growth. This movie is an excellent example of how – with enough faith – anything is possible!
