Rift is a 2011 video game developed and published by Trion Worlds. It was released in the United States on March 1, 2011, and in Europe on March 11, 2011. Rift is a Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (MMORPG) that takes place in the world of Telara. Players assume the role of an Ascended hero who must protect the world from various elemental invasions.
The first expansion for Rift, titled “Storm Legion”, was released on November 13, 2012. The second expansion for Rift, titled “Carnival of Souls”, was released on October 8, 2013. The third expansion for Rift, titled “Defenders of Telara”, was released on April 8, 2014. The fourth expansion for Rift, titled “Souls of the Betrayed”, was released on September 16th 2014
Rift has received generally positive reviews from critics since its release.
