Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is the fourth installment in the Super Smash Bros. series, and was released on September 13th, 2014 in Japan, and on October 3rd, 2014 in North America. The game was developed by Sora Ltd. and Bandai Namco Games, with supervision from Nintendo.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS is a fighting game that features characters from various Nintendo franchises such as Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong, and Bowser. The objective of the game is to knock opponents off of an arena while avoiding being knocked off yourself. Players can use various attacks to deal damage to their opponents or hinder their progress. Items also appear throughout each match which can be used to help players or harm them depending on the item.
The controls are largely unchanged from previous entries; players use the Circle Pad to move around arenas and the A button to attack foes with standard attacks while tilting the Circle Pad up or down allows players to jump or crouch respectively. New additions include a dodge roll mechanic that lets players quickly get out of danger by pressing left or right on the Circle Pad while shielding; this can also be used in conjunction with jumping to perform an aerial dodge roll . Brawling underwater is now possible as well due to new swimming mechanics; Tilting the Circle Pad left or right will cause fighters swim in those directions whilst pressing up will make them dive down . Players can now wall jump by hitting A near a wall then quickly jumping towards it .
One of Super Smash Bros.’s most popular modes is Classic Mode which pits players against a series of opponents culminating in a battle against Master Hand (or Crazy Hand if playing co-operatively). This mode has been altered for Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS with different stages based on whether you’re playing solo or co-operatively; when playing solo , you’ll face more difficult challenges but reap greater rewards upon completion such as trophies , gold coins , custom parts and even new characters unlocked early ! When playing co-operative Classic Mode however , you’ll only have access to two player battles where both players share one stock life bar ; this mode isn’t about defeating your enemies as fast as possible but rather working together strategically so both players don’t die simultaneously !
In addition to Classic Mode there’s also All-Star Mode which tasks you with fighting every character in the game consecutively without taking damage . There are three variants available – one where you start at Level 1 and must work your way up through all 29 other characters , another where you start at Level 9999 but cannot heal between rounds and lastly an easier variant where all characters are starting at Level 5 . As always there are rewards waiting for those who complete All-Star Mode including trophies , stickers and even music tracks !
Then there’s Events which offer unique challenges not seen elsewhere in Super Smash Bros.; some events pit two allies against each other whilst others may require using specific items only during that event . Completing these events will reward players with Trophies , Gold Coins & Custom Parts amongst other things . Finally we have Stadium Modes which includes Home Run Contest (hit sandbag as far as possible), Multi Man Melee (defeat waves of enemies), Target Blast (blast targets into orbit) & Break The Targets (break all targets as fast as possible). These modes offer great ways test your skills outside of normal matches without having any consequences!
