The International Rally Championship (IRC) is a series of rallies held across the world. The championship was founded in 1973, and has been running ever since. However, there have been rumours that the IRC may be shutting down soon.
There are a few reasons why the IRC may be shutting down. Firstly, the cost of competing in the championship is becoming increasingly expensive. This means that only teams with large budgets can afford to compete. Secondly, the number of spectators at rallies is declining. This means that sponsors are less likely to invest in the championship. Finally, there are now many other forms of motorsport which are more popular than rallying.
Despite these factors, there is still a chance that the IRC will survive. The championship has a strong following among fans and competitors alike. Additionally, new events are being added to the calendar all the time, which shows that there is still interest in rallying.
