There is no evidence that alien codes or messages have been received by any terrestrial or extra-terrestrial intelligence. The validity of these secret codes has long been debated and there are several reasons why they may be invalid.
First, it was claimed that the aliens used a different alphabet than our own, which would render their messages unintelligible. However, this claim is not supported by any research. In fact, studies have shown that the use of an unconventional alphabet does not impede the decoding of intercepted communications (1). Furthermore, some proponents of the code hypothesis assert that extraterrestrial beings would not need to communicate with humans in order to advance their agenda; instead they could simply send us transmissions through powerful telescopes (2). However, even if this were true\u2014and it is not\u2014it still does not provide evidence for the existence of extraterrestrial beings.
A second reason why some consider the alien code hypothesis to be invalid is because many purported examples do not actually make sense when translated into English. For example, one oft-cited message supposedly sent from an alien race asks for \u201ca pizza with pepperoni\u201d (3). Assuming that this message was intended for human consumption, it makes little sense since pepperoni is not typically found on pizzas sold on Earth. Moreover, translation errors are common in cryptography and cannot be relied upon as proof of nonhuman origin (4).
Finally, there is no credible evidence to support the idea that advanced extraterrestrial civilizations possess technology capable of sending encoded messages across interstellar distances (5). According to physicist Stephen Hawking: \u201cEven if aliens exist and manage to visit Earth every few years or so \u2013 as seems quite likely \u2013 we would still only be able to decipher a tiny fraction of their communication\u201d (6). This conclusion stems from two primary factors: firstly, most known forms of intelligent life use a form of communication which can be easily understood by humans; secondly, even if aliens did possess more sophisticated methods of communication encoding/decoding then we currently understand they would most likely choose to use them exclusively within their own species rather than share information with us mortals
